Awards & Recognition - Companies that Care Honor Roll - 2007 2006 2005
CHICAGO (MARCH 15, 2007)- The Center for Companies That Care has named 35 companies to its Honor Roll, announced Marci Koblenz, co-founder and president of the organization. Honor Roll recipients are selected for their strong commitment to elevating the quality of life for their employees and for people in the broader community as well as adhering to all ten of the 10 Characteristics inherent to a “Company That Cares.” Those named to the 2007 list feature large and small, public and private, national companies in diverse industries including: AAA Mid-Atlantic; Analytical Graphics Inc.; Baxter Credit Union; Bon Secours Richmond Health System (BSRHS); California ISO; Ceridian Corporation; CHAN Healthcare Auditors; Convergint Technologies LLC; Delnor-Community Health System; Enterprise Fleet Services; General Growth Properties, Inc.; Grand View Hospital; Grant Thornton LLP; HDR Design-Build, Inc.; KPMG LLP; Lake Forest Graduate School of Management; Legacy Health System; Levy Restaurants; McKinley Associates Inc.; Nationwide Insurance; Office Depot, Inc.; Ohio Savings Bank; Opto Technology, Inc.; PJM Interconnection; PricewaterhouseCoopers; Rauland-Borg Corporation; Rush University Medical Center; Sage Products, Inc.; Talecris Biotherapeutics, Inc.; TAP Pharmaceutical Products Inc.; The Care of Trees; The Supply Room The Honor Roll is selected by an independent panel of veteran professionals in a variety of industries. Each of the organizations named to the Honor Roll sustains a work environment founded on dignity and respect for all employees, develops great leaders, communicates standards of ethics and integrity and actively supports the community, among other outstanding attributes. “Being named to the Honor Roll requires a steadfast commitment to employees and communities and detailed proof that a company adheres to all 10 Characteristics of caring companies. Given our rigorous evaluation process, we are truly excited to announce that the number of companies named to the Honor Roll increased by 30% this year. We applaud this year’s recipients, and are extremely pleased that a growing number of companies are focusing on their social responsibility in the workplace and the community,” commented The Honor Roll is announced annually on the third Thursday of March in conjunction with the annual launch of CAREDAYS, a month-long, national initiative to engage individuals and employers in activities addressing a significant societal issue in our communities. This year, CAREDAYS07: It’s Your Life, focuses on ways to improve the quality and length of life and providing financial support to community health clinics serving low-income and medically-underserved communities.
