The Furniture Bank of Metro Atlanta relies heavily on volunteer and community support to carry out its mission to recycle and build essential household furniture to individuals and families in need. For Convergint Technologies’ annual Social Responsibility Day on June 9, about 35 colleagues from the Atlanta location helped the Furniture Bank by purchasing and assembling furniture.

It was such a rewarding experience, working in teams of three or four assembling and building furniture. We were very moved as we learned the stories of those in need that received furniture from the Furniture Bank. It is truly a life-changing experience for these families. We are humbly grateful to have had the opportunity to serve.”

Convergint’s Marc Smith created a highlight reel of the impact colleagues had during their day volunteering.

In all, 2,345 Convergint employees, friends, and family members volunteered at 64 local charitable organizations, including food banks, homeless shelters, military family support organizations, animal shelters, therapeutic groups, ministries, and Boys & Girls Clubs. Convergint donated one day of payroll equaling $575,000 in addition to many thousands of dollars in work supplies and donations.
