Convergint has created a culture of service through the company’s Values & Beliefs – a culture that is central to Convergint’s success as an organization. Not only does Convergint give to local communities annually on Convergint’s Social Responsibility Day, but all throughout the year. Recently Convergint’s Houston team went above and beyond in making a daily difference through giving.
After having previous connections with Project C.U.R.E., an organization that provides donated medical supplies & equipment to resource-limited communities, it was brought to the attention of Convergint Houston colleagues that Project C.U.R.E.’s local distribution center was in dire need of a security update. The team spent a Saturday volunteering their time and materials to update the distribution center.
Four Convergint technicians and one technician from partner Axis Communications, set out to help Project C.U.R.E. but soon came to realize they were doing more than installing a few new security cameras.
“Their minds and their hearts were stirred to a certain extent, not making this emotional but they saw a bigger picture like we’re not putting five cameras in, we’re actually helping an entity, and we’re helping them save a life,” said Darin Dillion, Convergint Business Development Manager.
Convergint was built on a solid foundation of Values & Beliefs. Values & Beliefs #8 is: We believe in balanced lives-family, business, community. The company’s 10 Values & Beliefs drive the positive culture and are what truly makes Convergint different.
“We want to support colleagues that care,” said Convergint Co-founder Greg Lernihan. “We didn’t want to be just takers you know when we built this company now, this engine, we want to give back in our local communities.”
