Convergint helped step up security at Saint John Catholic School in North Charleston, South Carolina. Through the STEP Up for schools initiative, the school received cameras, sensors, and card control access, as well as beautification efforts around the school. Karen Durand, the Principal at the school, was overwhelmed with Convergint’s generosity, saying “When I got the call the day before spring break that Saint John had been selected for this community outreach day, I cried.”

As part of its 18th annual Social Responsibility Day, Convergint colleagues gave back to their community across the nation. This project was featured in a recent newscast from ABC Charleston.

It’s a great feeling tonight knowing my school family is better protected.”

~ Karen Durand, Principal at Saint John Catholic School

About STEP Up

Enhancing school security can provide a vital level of protection for students, faculty, and visitors. In that spirit, Convergint created its STEP Up initiative to help strengthen security in our schools. This program was launched during Convergint’s annual Social Responsibility Day. Convergint colleagues went out into their local communities and provided underserved schools with interior and exterior security systems installations, security upgrades, and security assessments.
