Saint John Catholic School in North Charleston, South Carolina, received security upgrades through Convergint’s STEP Up for Schools social responsibility initiative. Convergint General Manager Todd Smith spoke to local NBC and FOX news stations about the upgrades and the level of confidence it will give students, faculty, and parents when they return in the fall. As part of Convergint’s 18th annual Social Responsibility Day, colleagues across the company got out of the office and gave back to their communities with free security upgrades, beautification, and donated materials.

This project was featured in the newscast below.

“We’re just really happy to be here and to provide our expertise in security for Saint John School.”

~ Todd Smith, General Manager at Convergint Technologies

About STEP Up

Enhancing school security can provide a vital level of protection for students, faculty, and visitors. In that spirit, Convergint created its STEP Up initiative to help strengthen security in our schools. This program was launched during Convergint’s annual Social Responsibility Day. Convergint colleagues went out into their local communities and provided underserved schools with interior and exterior security systems installations, security upgrades, and security assessments.
