In an effort to strengthen school safety, Convergint gave back to 18 schools on June 18, 2019 through its STEP Up for Schools initiative. As part of its 18th annual Convergint Social Responsibility Day, the STEP Up program aims to increase safety and security in K-12 schools, especially those in underserved local communities. Leveraging its unique position as a security integrator, Convergint aims to make a difference in local communities and encourage others to also step up and do what they can to make schools more secure for children.

Convergint colleagues donated their time and materials to Montgomery Elementary Schools in San Antonio, TX by upgrading their security system and also enhancing landscaping, all at no cost to the school. This project was featured by Fox San Antonio in a recent newscast and article, featured below.

“We see the need, we see things happening on TV, and they are representative of what’s taking place all over the country. So what we do is just try to help and respond.”

~ Rick Alexander, General Manager at Convergint Technologies

About STEP Up

Enhancing school security can provide a vital level of protection for students, faculty, and visitors. In that spirit, Convergint created its STEP Up initiative to help strengthen security in our schools. This program was launched during Convergint’s annual Social Responsibility Day. Convergint colleagues went out into their local communities and provided underserved schools with interior and exterior security systems installations, security upgrades, and security assessments.
