Each year in June, Convergint offices around the world close allowing thousands of colleagues to donate their time and resources at organizations in need across the globe for Convergint’s Social Responsibility Day. This event includes security updates at schools as part of Convergint’s STEP Up for Schools initiative.

In 2018, Convergint established its STEP Up for Schools initiative to help strengthen school security. Working with underserved schools in communities around the world, Convergint provides free interior and exterior security system installations, upgrades, and assessments.

This year’s Social Responsibility Day saw a special focus on school safety and the the STEP Up initiative was expanded to enhance school safety and address security-related challenges in underserved schools like South Park Middle School and High School in Fairplay, CO.

Laura Mueller, Convergint’s Chief Human Resources Officer,  sat down with ExecEdge to discuss the STEP Up for Schools initiative, its culture of giving back, and the Values and Beliefs that empower and inspire colleagues around the world.
