With the recent expansion of the team, as a result of the acquisition of Prosys Services in Australia, Convergint Oceania continues to provide a vast array of security services specifically tailored to the needs of its local and global customers.

In a conversation with Anna Mylonas, Director of Human Resources at Convergint Oceania, learn more about regional initiatives for colleague development and well-being and what’s in store for the team in the future.

Tell us about your professional background and role at Convergint.

My professional career includes over 20 years of human resources management, project management, and organisation change experience in the Banking & Finance, ICT, and Service industries. I’m an active participant in the day-to-day workings of Convergint and have a voice that feeds into Convergint’s priorities, initiatives, and overall strategy. I have an obligation to create value, speak up, and challenge things where needed to make Convergint a great place to work for all colleagues.

What does the Convergint Oceania HR team do?

Convergint’s strategy incorporates the importance of our people and culture. The Human Resources (HR) team is critical in delivering on this component of the strategy through their advice, strategic initiatives, and facilitation of ongoing people processes.

What exciting initiatives does the Oceania HR team have in the pipeline?

It has been a busy year for the Convergint Oceania HR team, with a key focus being on the integration of Prosys Services following their acquisition earlier this year.

As the business continues to grow, having strong foundations in place to support and develop Convergint colleagues is critical. Some of the recent initiatives include the launch of the performance and development framework and bonus scheme, Oceania’s Employee Assistance Program, and the region’s refreshed Colleague Referral Program.

The HR team has also been working hard to harmonise the organisation’s policies, implement an HRIS/Payroll system and, develop a user-friendly collaboration platform to provide easier access to information. We are planning to introduce an Internship/Cadet Program, increase the focus on career development and continued learning, and recognise and celebrate the service and contribution of colleagues more formally.

What are the five-year goals for Convergint Oceania HR?

Over the next five years, the HR team plans to support the growth and continued success of Convergint by:

  • Formulating a strategy to deliver people initiatives that attract and retain the right people in the right roles.
  • Promoting diversity of thought to reach our goal of becoming our customers’ service provider.
  • Managing talent and succession to deliver our business objectives.
  • Promoting strong and sustainable engagement through career development and growth.

Which of Convergint's Value & Beliefs do you resonate with the most and why?

“I have integrity. It’s what I do when no one’s watching“. To me, this means doing the right thing and living every day by my morals and principles. Integrity is the foundation on which I build trusted relationships with colleagues, and I believe is especially critical in my role at Convergint.
