For the 20th consecutive year, Convergint offices closed so more than 3,400 colleagues could volunteer their time, expertise, and resources as a part of the company’s ongoing Social Responsibility initiative for 2021. Convergint colleagues donated time and materials in local communities to contribute to those in need.

This year, Convergint’s Nashville team took part in the STEP Up for Schools program—an initiative to enhance school safety and address security-related challenges in underserved schools. The team volunteered at Hume-Fogg Magnet, East Nashville High and Middle, and Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet School where they upgraded school security systems and performed preventative maintenance on camera systems. View the highlights from the Nashville projects below.

“We find schools in our community and go out and make an impact on those schools by doing things like preventative maintenance on their camera systems. We just really take to heart the safety of our children in our community.”

-Yaruba Tate, Vice President of Inclusion and Diversity, Convergint

Learn More About STEP Up

Enhancing school security can provide a vital level of protection for students, faculty, and visitors. In that spirit, Convergint created its STEP Up initiative to help strengthen security in our schools. This program was launched during Convergint’s annual Social Responsibility Day. Convergint colleagues went out into their local communities and provided underserved schools with interior and exterior security systems installations, security upgrades, and security assessments.
