Portland Engineering Specialist, Hong Chen, is driven by this goal with every customer he services. “I always work to understand and meet my customers’ needs. It’s important for me to provide professional, knowledgeable, and timely service to my customer.”

With a background in access control, electronic security, and systems integration, Hong has honed his skills over the past 20 years in the security industry. Manager Nick McClaugherty commends Hong’s vast knowledge and determined attitude in his recent nomination for his Convergint Taking Care of Business (TCB) award.

“Hong Chen responded to a service call for a new customer for an existing system installed by othersincorrectly. Hong worked with hardware unfamiliar to him, corrected errors implemented in the replacement hardware, and quickly brought their systems back online and functional. He has demonstrated outstanding technical troubleshooting skills and the ability to take on new challenges with a positive attitude,” said McClaugherty. 

On top of his TCB award, Hong has won 3 Convergint ACE awards, an honor that recognizes service excellence. In his free time, Hong likes to play ping pong and go hiking.
