The City of Venice, FL, is adding video surveillance cameras to watch over the safety of its residents and visitors, as featured in the article by ABC7 WWSP News. As part of the phase one of the project, four CrimeEye 126 fixed location public safety camera systems were installed to oversee Venice’s Downtown and Centennial Park areas.

Four additional cameras are expected to be mounted in the upcoming months at the Venice Airport, Municipal Fishing Pier, and the South Jetty in Humphris Park. All the footage captured by the cameras will be stored up to 30 days on a secure hard drive at the Venice Police Department.

“It’s going to capture any incident that may occur. Whether it’s a traffic crash or a pedestrian being hit by a car. Any type of incident is now going to be captured on video.

For the upcoming holiday parade, we will have this camera system in place that will give us great security, so it’s just a way that the city is moving forward in keeping us safe.”
