Convergint Technologies has put school safety on the forefront with its STEP Up initiative. This program was launched during Convergint’s annual Social Responsibility Day in June of 2018, with the goal of strengthening K-12 school security, with a focus on underserved local communities. In addition to security upgrades, Convergint has provided a security checklist available online to everyone which lists out all of the important elements to consider for school safety.

Convergint colleagues volunteered at Whitter Elementary School in Waukegan and Katzenmaier Academy in North Chicago where they installed new security cameras, repaired existing ones, and improved the surrounding landscape. Read more below from the Daily Herald.

About STEP Up

Enhancing school security can provide a vital level of protection for students, faculty, and visitors. In that spirit, Convergint created its STEP Up initiative to help strengthen security in our schools. This program was launched during Convergint’s annual Social Responsibility Day. Convergint colleagues went out into their local communities and provided underserved schools with interior and exterior security systems installations, security upgrades, and security assessments.
