Speakers

Ross J. Bourgeois serves as the Director of Public Safety Support for the City of New Orleans. In this role, he oversees the Real Time Crime Center, physical security at municipal facilities, two citywide public safety radio systems, and IT support and security for the public safety agencies. The New Orleans Real Time Crime Center has been nationally and internationally recognized for its support to the City’s public safety agencies.

Ross is a law enforcement veteran who served on the New Orleans Police Department where he worked in a variety of assignments, including the Special Events Section. In that assignment, he played a significant role in bringing major special events back to New Orleans in a post-Katrina environment. He also served as the Deputy Chief of Public Safety at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome complex for over 5 years.

Ross holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Loyola University New Orleans. He is also a Certified Sports Security Professional and was featured in the trade publication Security Systems News as a “Top 20 under 40” recipient in 2015.

Chris Nielsen is the Founder and CEO of Levatas, developers of the Cognitive Inspection Platform. The advanced AI solutions from Levatas allow their customers to automate industrial inspections programs across safety, security, and facility/equipment maintenance use cases using computer vision, mobile robots, drones and cameras. Based in South Florida, Levatas serves both the regional and global marketplace, working with industry leading customers like NextEra Energy, Florida Power & Light, Trans Bay Cable, CMS Energy, Evergy, Avangrid, BMW, Anheuser Busch, Dow Chemical, Praxair, Johnson Controls, Ryder, Royal Caribbean, Carrier, and more.

Quang drives growth and innovation through solutions and services. Mr. Trinh joined Axis in 2013 as a field sales engineer, bringing with him over 8 years of extensive knowledge in network infrastructure, network security, AI, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Computer Vision, Neural Networks, and physical security systems. He spent 7 years managing a team of solution developers and architects who provided beyond-security solutions to solve customer’s use cases. Mr. Trinh is currently the Business Development Manager for Platform Technologies. He has been instrumental in broadening cybersecurity and AI in the physical security world through close collaboration with other major technology providers outside the security industry. Prior to Axis, he served as the Chief Technology Officer for Dotworkz Systems where he advocated edge-based computing intelligence and communications.

Mr. Trinh holds a Bachelor of Science degree in information technology from the University of Phoenix, is an Axis Certified Professional (ACP) and an ASIS Physical Security Professional (PSP). He is also an active member of InfraGuard and is serving as Vice Chair of the Local San Diego ASIS chapter, Vice Chair of the ASIS Emerging Technology Committee, and an active contributor to SIA AI, Drones, and Robotics Group. Mr. Trinh is currently pursuing a master’s in information technology with an emphasis on data analytics.

Steve Washburn is the Executive Director of Business Development for Convergint’s Digital Transformation team. Steve is responsible for business development, team management, and performance of all Digital Transformation sales activities across Convergint’s local, strategic, and global business units. Steve helps customers migrate from on-premise technology solutions to cloud-based solutions using Microsoft Azure or AWS cloud services while introducing the latest AI and ML technologies to help customers become safer, more secure, and more profitable.

Wise began his career in the security industry over 35 years ago. He has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice with concentrations in Security Management, Security Risk Assessments, & Security Risk Mitigation. He is Certified by the United Sates Coast Guard as a Facility Security Officer (CFR 33), a licensed Security Agent in the southeastern states, has worked with many of the fortune 500 corporations’ global security and life safety teams in the creation of business impact analysis reports, business continuity planning and site security assessment. He is certified in a multitude of software management systems and his expert knowledge of physical security assessment are coupled with expertise in electronic access control, biometric solutions, intrusion detection systems and video management systems. Wise has designed the layout of multiple national and global corporate security management systems and specializes in process creation, systems integration, and overall implementation of the applied sciences of risk mitigation.
