On June 9th, Convergint colleagues around the world made a significant impact in the communities served for Social Responsibility Day 2023. Over 9,200 global Convergint colleagues had the opportunity to volunteer at more than 200 organisations resulting in an estimated total donation of over $3 million in labour and equipment from colleagues, partners, and families.

In Asia Pacific, hundreds of colleagues participated in over 25 activities across Greater China, India, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, Australia, and New Zealand. Volunteer organisations ranged from schools and orphanages to community centres, food banks, and environmental associations.

India

The Convergint India team provided care and support for underprivileged children and economically vulnerable women. Colleagues in Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Mumbai spent the day engaging with children at Angels Orphanage and other organisations by arranging activities, sharing meals, donating medical and electronic equipment, and installing and servicing security systems. In Bengaluru and Hyderabad, the team also contributed vessels and vehichle for food distribution to local NGO the Akshaya Patra Foundation. Furthermore, the Gurgaon team visited the Red Cross Home, delivering essential supplies and participating in a sapling planting initiative.

Southeast Asia

Colleagues in Singapore and Thailand actively engaged in sustainability-focused activities. The Singapore team participated in “Unlitter Red Dot,” a community clean-up program, and collectively gathered over 90kg of litter at East Coast Park. Meanwhile, the Thailand team dedicated their efforts to coral reef cultivation, preserving natural resources, and supporting local communities. In the Philippines, colleagues refurbished a learning centre in the outskirts of Manila, providing vital educational support to children in need.

Greater China

The Greater China team demonstrated their commitment to social responsibility through a range of impactful activities. Colleagues visited Beijing Stars and Rain Education Institute for Autism and other centres for children with disabilities, fostering meaningful interaction. They also demonstrated their dedication to safety by upgrading security systems and showed environmental care by participating in clean-up programs. Additionally, the team donated meal boxes to underprivileged individuals on the streets.

Oceania

Colleagues in Oceania undertook a door-to-door food collection initiative. Their dedication resulted in a generous donation of collected food items to local food banks in multiple cities, including Auckland, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, Perth, and Sydney. The initiative showcased their commitment to addressing food insecurity and supporting the local communities within their regions.

Japan

Colleagues in Japan revisited Meguro Wakaba Ryou, a local orphanage, to provide support by delivering essential items, cleaning rooms, and ensuring a comfortable environment for the children.
