At the core of Convergint’s thriving culture of service is the annual Convergint Social Responsibility Day. Since 2002, on the first Friday in June, Convergint closes for a full, paid workday so that colleagues may go out to serve in their communities through various service projects.

This year for Convergint Social Responsibility Day, one service project made a significant impact on Black Hills State University (BHSU) in Spearfish, SD. In 2020, the BHSU Spearfish campus embarked on a library remodeling project, but due to budget constraints, certain security measures had to be reevaluated.

Recognizing the importance of security on school campuses, Convergint, in collaboration with partners Axis Communications, Milestone Systems, and Windy City Wire, stepped forward to generously donate crucial security materials to the university. The donations received are as follows:

  • Axis Communications donated 18 cameras.
  • Milestone Systems donated 17 software licenses & a complete software maintenance and support program.
  • Windy City Wire donated 4,000 feet of green CAT6 cabling.

Convergint is committed to contributing its expertise and materials to improve campus security. By collaborating with educational institutions, Convergint aims to create a secure environment where students can focus on their studies, personal growth, and future aspirations without concerns about their safety.
