ACCESSIBILITY FOR ONTARIANS

Convergint Technologies was founded in 2001 on a core set of Values and Beliefs that remain central to our organization today. One of those beliefs is the importance of creating a positive work environment, and that continues to drive our daily operations. The Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) aims to identify, remove, and prevent barriers for people with disabilities. The AODA became law on June 13, 2005, and it applies to all levels of government, nonprofits, and private sector businesses in Ontario that have one or more employees (full-time, part-time, seasonal, or contract).

POLICY

Convergint is committed to ensuring equal access and participation for people with disabilities. We treat people with disabilities in a way that allows them to maintain their dignity and independence. Convergint believes in integration, and so we are very dedicated to meeting the needs of people with disabilities in a timely manner. We will do so by removing and preventing barriers to accessibility and meeting our accessibility requirements under the AODA and Ontario’s accessibility laws. PLAN

Convergint strives to meet the needs of its colleagues and customers with disabilities and is working hard to remove and prevent barriers to accessibility. Our organization is committed to fulfilling our requirements under the AODA. This accessibility plan outlines the steps Convergint is taking to meet those requirements and to improve opportunities for people with disabilities. Our plan shows how Convergint will play its role in making Ontario an accessible province for all Ontarians. We understand that obligations under the AODA and its accessibility standards do not substitute or limit its obligations under the Ontario Human Rights Code or obligations to people with disabilities under any other law. Convergint continues to comply with both the Ontario Human Rights Code and the AODA. Convergint is also committed to excellence in serving all customers including people with disabilities. Our accessible customer service policies are consistent with the principles of independence, dignity, integration, and equality of opportunity for people with disabilities.
