Convergint colleagues took part in Convergint Social Responsibility Day on the 10th of June 2022. 20 colleagues from Convergint Switzerland participated in the social responsibility day. All the colleagues could give something back to the city of Opfikon, where Convergint Switzerland has a location and participated in the forest and field cleanup.
Meeting point
Early on Friday morning, all of the Convergint colleagues left to gather at Office Opfikon. This included Convergint’s colleagues who travelled from the French-speaking part of Switzerland and all of the colleagues from the headquarters in Muttenz. After the team fought their way through the traffic jam, they were welcomed by the organizer with a generous breakfast. Before the actual work, all colleagues were instructed. Each colleague was divided into zones, to clean the forest and field area from litter with the help of a grabber.
Forest and field cleaning
After arriving at the assigned area, the collection of litter started. The collection took place in the morning and in the afternoon for about two hours each. Mainly empty beverage cans, packaging and all kinds of small waste were found and disposed of in the yellow waste bags. Surprisingly, no large objects were found. An old bicycle frame and a clothes rack were the two biggest “trophies” from the day.
Final spurt
Not only did Convergint colleagues get to give back to the community, the day was enriching for Convergint colleagues. Convergint colleagues have become closer outside of their daily work and are looking forward to next year.
