Convergint colleagues took part in Convergint Social Responsibility Day on the 9th of June 2023. Colleagues from Convergint Switzerland participated in the social responsibility day and volunteer for the Animal Park Lange Erlen.
About Animal Park Lange Erlen
For Convergint colleagues, it was heartwarming to help the living creatures in need of protection. The Animal Park Lange Erlen in Basel is one of the best-known animal park in Basel, and the park is very special for the city’s residents. The Animal Park Lange Erlen is dedicated to species-appropriate husbandry and expert handling. Attractions include fallow deer, chamois, foxes, wild boar, lynx, wild cats, and eagle owls. The park is free for children and adults and offers a local recreation area in small-Basel.
How Convergint colleagues helped
After the death of the female lynx “Selina”, the lynx enclosure is currently empty. For the Convergint colleagues, this was an opportunity to redesign the enclosure for Social Responsibility Day. After being welcomed by the Lange Erle team and provided with the necessary tools, colleagues were divided into small groups and set to work. The groups maintained the forest area belonging to the lynxes and cut back branches in the overgrown forest. In addition, another group cleaned the indoor enclosure for the new arrivals and equipped the enclosure for species-appropriate husbandry. The chicken coop was redesigned for the chickens and hens and the floor was filled with new sand. This day was an enrichment for the whole team.
Not only did Convergint colleagues get to give back to the community, the day was enriching for Convergint colleagues. Convergint colleagues have become closer outside of their daily work and are looking forward to next year.
