Convergint colleagues took part in Convergint Social Responsibility Day on the 10th of June 2022. UK colleagues split during the day to work on projects in local areas. On one project colleagues supported Raystede, an animal charity & rescue centre based in Sussex.
Raystede is a charity that cares for or rehomes a wide range of animals including dogs, cats, and small animals. They achieve all of this with the generous donations they receive. You are able to adopt and rehome animals from Raystede but you are also able to give up your animal here. Raystede will take in your animal and make sure it gets the care and attention that it needs to be happy.
Raystede is an exciting and rewarding place to volunteer. They have over 200 volunteers at Raystede all committed to giving animals a better life. Volunteers have a massive part in the upkeep of Raystede and they are very proud of what Raystede has become.
Convergint’s Team of 7 started the day out with some gardening in their Pet Crematorium. The team got to work clearing some of the lands they have. Cutting back bushes, pulling out weeds and getting rid of anything that they did not want on the land. At the start, it looked overgrown and covered in weeds but by the end, it was very clear with no weeds left on the ground.
In the second part of the day the team got to work on some memorial benches that needed a freshening up. They removed the plaques and started by sanding down the benches to get rid of any nasty stuff, like moss, flaky paint, etc. Once the benches were sanded down, the team started painting them. After a few coats of fresh paint, the benches looked brand new. The Plaques were placed back on, and they were ready to go back out into the centre.
