The newbaby™ infant security system offers multiple layers of security while remaining patient-friendly and easy to use. With state-of-the-art technology, this patient protection system utilizes the industry-leading CenTrak Real-Time Location System (RTLS) platform, augmented with additional security devices to create a solid security solution.
Benefits of the newbaby Infant Security System
The newbaby infant security system uses an active tag applied to the ankle or wrist, and transmits a unique signal every few seconds to a series of ceiling-mounted 900 MHz radio frequency receivers connected to a central server.
If a tag is detected near an exit, removed from a patient, or if the signal is lost, an alarm will sound. In addition, the system can activate door locks, control elevators, and interface with auxiliary devices, cameras, and remote alarms. Tag and system features include:
A fully supervised and dedicated “Stand-Alone” 900 MHz network that runs without WiFi
Ability to scale to other RTLS use cases
Multiple layers of security including loose tag, exit, tamper, and supervision
Low battery detection & monitoring
Web-based access on any networked PC
LDAP integration for user management
Offering departmental & hospital-wide solutions
This state-of-the-art system does not reside on WiFi. There are many benefits to a stand-alone system, including:
Mitigate the risks and responsibilities associated with hosting an Infant Security System on your WiFi network
Save money by avoiding the need to make WiFi network upgrades that may result in unplanned costs
Avoid overloading your WiFi network with the increased traffic that would come with adding applications to an enterprise system
