Convergint was built upon a solid foundation of service excellence, deeply-held Values and Beliefs, and a culture of safety. Convergint is committed to providing the tools, training, and programs so that all projects, service calls, and day-to-day operations are completed without incidents or injuries.

At the core of Convergint’s thriving culture is the annual Convergint Social Responsibility Day. Since 2002, on the first Friday in June, Convergint closes for a full, paid workday so that colleagues may go out to serve in their communities through various service projects.

Convergint is dedicated to creating a safe work environment for all colleagues, and Convergint can’t give back to local communities unless the safety of each colleague throughout the day is ensured. Colleagues are the heart of Convergint, which is why creating a safe work environment for all colleagues is critical.

On-site safety leader

To ensure the safety of each colleague during Convergint Social Responsibility Day, local leadership assigns safety leaders to cover each project. Safety leaders will work with the committee on each team to draft a “Safety Activity Plan” to review with the safety department to ensure that there is a plan to proactively prevent injuries and enable colleagues to safely serve their communities.

Safety leaders are responsible to conduct the Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) while onsite. Additionally, each safety leader is encouraged to monitor the weather and ensure they have enough fluids available for proper hydration for each colleague.

Every service project is different, but safety is always a must. Safety leaders at each site will establish the safety dress code for their designated project that all colleagues should follow. Safety leaders will also be in charge of procuring the proper PPE such as gloves, protective eyewear, and other safety gear to be worn throughout the day.

Safe teamwork makes the dream work

Family and friends are encouraged to join Convergint colleagues during CSRD to help them make a difference in their communities. To ensure safety for all participants, each site’s safety leader works on a case-by-case basis with Convergint’s safety department to determine the minimum age of participants allowed depending on each site’s volunteer project. Any assistance throughout the day is greatly appreciated, but it is necessary that all possible hazards are avoided along the way!
