Saving Scotland’s Red Squirrels

Colleague Paul Smart currently volunteers for the Saving Scotland’s Red Squirrels network, which is part of the Scottish Wildlife trust, as a Grey Squirrel Controller. The local team has a project underway to set up a new monitoring station in the area, and required some additional Red Squirrel feeder boxes. Paul offered his services to provide these for Convergint Social Responsibility Day. The day was spent in the workshop manufacturing the boxes from a variety of timber, tire inner tubes, and perspex sheets. The team ended up with 16 feeder boxes, which will now be deployed at the monitoring station.

Chailey Heritage Foundation

Convergint UK colleagues assisted at the Chailey Heritage Foundation. A wendy house for guinea pigs was built as well as a path for wheelchairs to get to see them. A new climbing frame was built from pallets for the goats, and a fence with a gate was built to keep the male and female guinea pigs apart.
