It was cold and snowy Chicago day in January 2001 when Convergint Technologies was founded by Dan Moceri and Greg Lernihan. Starting with just the two of them in a basement, Dan and Greg created a company from a strategic plan that centered on a core platform of Values & Beliefs that still guide Convergint and its company culture today. Under Dan and Greg’s leadership, Convergint has since become the second largest systems integrator in the world.
Moceri started his career in the building controls industry after graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE), for which he currently serves on the Board of Regents. He also received his master’s degree in Management from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. MSOE awarded Dan with an honorary doctorate during their 2016 Fall Commencement ceremony. Watch his degree conferral and speech below.
Moceri has over 40 years of experience in the electronic security, fire alarm & life safety, and building management systems industry. Prior to starting Convergint Technologies, Dan was the President of Siemens Building Technologies Security Division for North America. He has held positions in marketing, engineering, and executive management focused on integrated building management systems throughout the United States and Canada. Dan currently serves as the Executive Chairman of the Board for Convergint Technologies.
