At the core of Convergint’s thriving culture of service is our annual Convergint Social Responsibility Day. Since 2002, on the first Friday in June, Convergint closes for a full, paid workday so that colleagues may go out to serve in their communities through various service projects.
Giving Back during COVID-19
Each year, volunteer efforts for our annual day of service take place on one day as a culmination of year-long planning, in-person meetings, non-profit coordination, donation request, and so much more. In 2020, however, things were different.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, our 2020 volunteer efforts stretched well beyond a single-day event, allowing colleagues to gather in smaller groups at different times to complete service projects while observing social distancing mandates, and prioritizing the safety of both colleagues and community members.

Making a Daily Difference
Even in the wake of the pandemic, Convergint colleagues persevered to continue our annual Social Responsibility Day efforts. 1,864 colleagues at 49 different locations gave their time and talents at 35 organizations across the country. More than $875,000 was donated by Convergint in payroll. They continued Convergint’s time-honored tradition of giving back with STEP Up security-related projects at four schools, in addition to volunteering their time at local food pantries, parks, community gardens, homeless and women’s shelters, veteran’s organizations, charitable groups assisting people with disabilities, youth clubs, and animal shelters.

One of Convergint’s core Values and Beliefs is “We believe in balanced lives—family, business, community.” The goal of Social Responsibility Day in a post-COVID-19 world was to inspire unity, boost morale for colleagues, and create a lasting impact in the surrounding communities in need, helping them rebuild for a better tomorrow.
