Last month, Convergint exhibited at the ISC West 2023 tradeshow, showcasing the company’s newest and most innovative solutions and services. Convergint colleague David Klug, State & Local Government & Education (SLED) BD Leadership, presented at the event on grant funding for K-12 security improvements.

David focused on three main learning objectives:

  • Identify primary sources of funding available for K-12 school security solutions.
  • Discuss informational and educational resources for obtaining grant funding at federal, state, and local levels.
  • Learn how to advise K-12 school and/or district administrators on identifying and applying for security grants.

Presentation: Grant Funding for K-12 Security Improvements: Current Sources and Emerging Legislation

As states and school districts across the country increase their focus on school security enhancements using various sources of funding ranging from operating budgets and infrastructure bonds to state and federal grants, it is more important now than ever for both education and security industry leaders to better understand what funding options are available to them and for what purposes. This session examined a variety of primary sources of funding available for K-12 school security solutions and provided resources for obtaining more information at the federal, state, and local levels.
