Suburban-Chicago based Convergint Technologies announced today its second acquisition within the last 30 days with the purchase of FSC, a leading provider of physical security systems and services throughout Eastern Canada. Last month, Convergint announced the acquisition of ICD Security Solutions, a leading provider of physical security systems and services throughout the Asia Pacific region.

Founded in 1982 by its current CEO Sam Shalaby, Convergint and FSC will integrate their businesses, located in Toronto and Ottawa, resulting in one of the strongest physical security solution and service providers in Eastern Canada.  ICD Security Systems, founded in 1997 in China, is a leading value-added security solutions provider serving global Fortune 500 companies. The company provides a wide array of world class security services including system design, integration, support, training, and monitoring services with a highly skilled workforce of more than two hundred professionals operating in seven countries throughout Asia Pacific.

“We continue to evolve our capabilities to service customers on a worldwide basis, and the addition of FSC’s thirty-eight colleagues strengthens our position in Eastern Canada,” said Dan Moceri, CEO of Convergint Technologies.  “FSC and Convergint also share similar company cultures which makes the integration of our two organizations a natural fit,” according to Moceri.

“Convergint and FSC have partnered together over the past several years supporting each other’s delivery of services across Canada,” according to Sam Shalaby.  FSC also has a strong federal government customer base, and a ULC listed certified monitoring center that complements Convergint’s long-term growth strategies.
