In conversation with Henry Newton, Chief Operating Officer at Capstar, learn more about the regional capabilities offered to customers though the partnership of Convergint and Capstar and what’s in store for the team in the future.

What is your background in the security industry?

I have combined total 35 years’ Military service and Security experience. This culminated in the Military of being the head of security for the largest Garrison in Europe. After leaving the service, inevitably, I went into the security industry and this led to me being the head of security for various ultra-high net worth individuals and corporate companies.

What is Capstar, and how did it start?

Capstar Services was founded in 2013. Our mission statement is to provide meaningful employment and opportunities for military service leavers. Capstar employs military personnel, as well as those from a non-military or emergency service background.

In September this year we will celebrating Capstar’s 10 year anniversary. Celebrating our teams’ achievements and being one of the industry leaders in the UK for security services.

How do Capstar and Convergint work together?

Over the last 18 months Capstar and Convergint’s partnership has grown. First being introduced by a mutual client, Capstar and Convergint have developed a strong partnership, with Convergint providing technical solutions and Capstar providing the physical security. Convergint and Capstar have developed the partnership through various exciting new projects. Both companies come together through our aligned ethos, and core values. I would say that our partnership is built on trust and both Convergint and Capstar recognise the need of a trustworthy counterpart in order to deliver a project to the best of our abilities and supporting the client.

How do Capstar and Convergint’s values and beliefs align in your opinion?

The most impressive statement that I like about Convergint is the value and belief of “We expect to be our customers’ best service provider. No matter what business we are in.” This fits into Capstar’s values as we pride ourselves on delivering the best security services, whatever that may be. Convergint aligns with Capstar’s core values, in that we both have integrity, honesty, loyalty, and selflessness commitment to our clients.

How do you see Capstar and Convergint working together in the future?

We are currently working on some very exciting projects, collaborating with Cisco Meraki, more news to come on that! We will be working on many more projects together as we have a unique partnership with Convergint. Our partnership provides the physical and technical solutions for new and existing clients that potentially need other security services. We’ve set targets of what we want to deliver to potential and current clients and how we are going to utilise our strengths and capabilities to work together. For now, partnering with Convergint is giving opportunities of employment to not just military service leavers, but anyone who wants to be part of delivering exciting new projects and we hope to keep this partnership with Convergint for many years to come.
