What does the grants & funding team do at Convergint?

With that being said, customers in this space are often challenged to ‘find money’ to cover security initiatives, no matter how compelling. Convergint’s grants and funding team can assist in securing federal funding through competitive, designated grant programs. These programs are focused on boosting preparedness and emergency response results, and including enhanced safety equipment and services.

We always start with bigger-picture economic stimulus and preparedness grants such as: the CARES Act, Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, and Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, which may apply to a customer project. Our team also considers a myriad of annual recurring, competitive, formula, and discretionary grants, which commonly emanate from the Department of Homeland, Department of Justice, and Department of Transportation.

What are some of the biggest challenges and opportunities for customers trying to tap into grants and funding?

The vast majority of organizations in the SLED space do not have a dedicated grant writing team. As such, they are often frustrated by missed opportunities. Furthermore, while their funding opportunities may be vast, understanding the system can be challenging.
