On the 9th of June 2023, Convergint colleagues took part in Convergint Social Responsibility Day. Across the UK, colleagues worked on projects in local areas. One project was to work at the St Joseph’s Hospice in London.
This group of UK colleagues went to St Joseph’s Hospice in London and were given a full introduction to the history of the charity which was very informative and gave the colleagues a better understanding of how much they need charitable support. Colleagues were then divided into smaller groups to help tidy the gardens, sort out cupboards with fund raising items, and another with essential items for the wards. The colleagues had a team clearing out the basement of the building to allow for better storage of their drinks, promotional materials, and furniture. The staff do not have time to carry out these tasks and they were very grateful for the work the Convergint colleagues did to give them more time with the patients.
A special thanks was given to Axis Communications for providing UK colleagues across the country with lunch boxes to keep the Convergint colleagues energised throughout the day.
St Joseph’s Hospice opened its doors in Thornton, Merseyside, in 1974 and has held a special place in the heart of their community ever since. Today, the hospice offers high-quality, professional nursing care within a peaceful, home from home environment surrounded by 12 acres of beautiful woodland gardens. The Hospice cares for around 200 patients, and their families, every year from across a diverse geographical area, which includes Sefton, Liverpool. and West Lancashire.
