Service Account Engineer (SAE)
Location: Renton, WA
Minimum Training/Education Required: 5+ years of experience in the fire alarm and/or security market with a strong knowledge of the service aspect of the business. The successful candidate should display strong customer service skills and a passion for service delivery. Knowledge of fire alarm design and code requirements of the local marketplace or security system design and installation is a must.
Responsibilities: The SAE position is responsible for managing all aspects of assigned service accounts. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: •Full support and implementation of Customer Support Programs (service agreements) including: *Scheduling work *Tracking costs *Invoicing *Customer QA visits and follow-up •Act as primary customer point of contact for all assigned CSP and regular service customers •Coordinate schedule of inspections •Assist with dispatching technicians •Set-up and coordinate monitoring accounts •Order equipment for service orders and contracts •Price all parts and labor on service orders •Prepare invoices for service orders and service agreements •Track renewals of service agreements •Process all time-and-material service work, including collecting service tickets, creating invoices and reconciling work orders in financial systems (Forefront) •Direct interface with customers for service requests •Implement and manage a customer quality assurance program In addition to the operational aspects of the position, there will also be a sales aspect to the position to include: •Identify opportunities to grow the Customer Support Program base through proposal of additive services to existing customer CSP’s •Identify opportunities for new CSP customers •Aggressively develop and propose corrective service work based on results from testing and maintenance work for our existing CSP customers •Quote T&M and parts sales to existing service customers •Support the sales team by proposing pricing for small tenant improvement projects, adds to our existing CSP base, etc.

Senior Building Automation Technician

Responsibilities: • The successful candidate will be charged with the responsibility for service and field technical support of automated HVAC control systems at one of our client Plant Sites close to Fort McMurray. As a member of the Operations team and as the senior technician for the site, good communications and interpersonal skills are critical as is adaptability and a results oriented focus. • Responsible for sustaining all of the Building Automation Systems installed on site. • Assigns and coordinates other members of the team to accomplish the work in an efficient and effective manner. • Reports directly to the Convergint Site Operations Manager to coordinate with the building operator team for training, daily operations, and trouble-shooting. • Assists with installation and commissioning required to implement HVAC control solutions • Provides the required input to complete accurate “as-built” drawings depicting installation details. • Conducts “on the job” or “in -house” training classes for customers and employees alike. • Delivers technical support to end users and field labour when applicable. • Makes recommendations to clients regarding changes, improvements or installation of automation system on basis on own findings in the course of assignments. • Completes and submits written reports covering all aspects of each assignment, including customer, nature of trouble, equipment involved, time and material used. • Creates interoperability between installed BAS systems, Personal Computers, Client Servers, Web connections and other operating systems, as required. • Establishes training, development and supervision requirements for technicians required to support growth strategies for the client’s BAS. • Will work with the other engineering group members to establish an integration platform with a view to supporting our open protocol offerings as well as interfacing to legacy systems. • Holds the key responsibility for maintaining Convergint Technologies as the top service provider on this client’s site.
Preferred Selection: HVAC Trade qualifications including a journeyman certificate and related HVAC experience. An associate degree (2 year) or Bachelor degree (4 years) in technical a capacity would be an asset. Engineering Supervisor

Responsibilities: Accountable for the management and handling of pre-sale aspects of complex, larger jobs, smaller projects and/or multiple projects including estimating, design, tracking, start up and planning phases. May also provide ‘trouble shooting’ support to other departments/jobs. This position will work very closely with the sales account managers, participating in pre-bid meetings, site visits, design meetings and other activities necessary to complete a bid package or quote. This position will also be responsible for post award submittal packages including typical wiring diagrams, data sheets and scope of work clarifications. Performs role with little or no direction/supervision. Coordinates project priorities with account managers to make sure we are focusing on high probability projects. Pre-bid and Post award activities include project design to meet the intent of the specification; value engineering solutions to insure competitiveness; submittal packages as part of the post award process and effective communication with the Project Managers to assure that they understand the statement of work / scope of work in the prime contract.

Fire Alarm Project Specialist
Location: Vancouver
Minimum Training/Education Required: -ASTTBC Certified. -Completion of CFAA certification. -Minimum 5 years of experience within the Fire Protection industry.
Responsibilities: -Install, inspect and program Honeywell fire alarm systems. -Responsible for meeting customer expectations while performing quality inspections and installations. -Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems, programs, schematics and operational/product manuals. -Supervise and inspect the installation of equipment to meet customer specifications. -Manager inspection issues on-site to ensure fiscal requirements are met. -Evaluate and diagnose equipment that requires servicing as well as troubleshoot problems. -Provide specific solutions and recommendations to customers on the most efficient and cost effective methods to return equipment to working order.
Preferred Selection: -Experience in Honeywell and Notifier Fire Systems an asset. -Experience in Access Control and CCTV Systems an asset . -Ability to manage large projects accurately and efficiently. -Ability to adapt to changing customer needs. -Ability to read architectural and electrical drawings. -Demonstrates an aptitude for troubleshooting systems and performing necessary system repairs. -Ability to identify and sell basic product enhancements to customers. -Ability to demonstrate a high level of customer service. -A valid motor vehicle license is required with annual abstract to maintain eligibility. -Demonstrates basic knowledge of electricity/electronics.

Senior Fire Technician
Location: Based out of Calgary or Edmonton
Minimum Training/Education Required: Education Requirements: • High school diploma or equivalent. Experience Requirements: • Minimum of five years of previous, relevant field service technician experience required within the Fire Protection industry. • Understanding of fire alarm systems, products, service, and design; knowledge of construction industry and familiarity with local and national fire codes is required. Certifications: • Certificate of training from a recognized public post secondary training institution, or registered as a fire alarm technician with the Canadian Fire Alarm Association (CFAA) preferred.
Responsibilities: 1. Effectively communicates project requirements and status including project change proposals and related project activities on a regular basis to project manager/supervisor. Completes work on time and according to project schedules including project change proposals. 2. Performs wiring checkout, system start-ups, and programming using commissioning tools. 3. Completes final adjustments, calibration and commissioning reports on systems. 4. Completes accurate and detailed service reports for customer and Convergint to allow for accurate invoicing and job cost tracking. 5. Provides technical support to end users and field labour when applicable. Transfers knowledge and expertise to other technicians. 6. Executes all service calls in accordance with Provincial, local regulations, general best practices as well as company health and safety policies and procedures. Uses advanced troubleshooting skills to isolate and fix problems in malfunctioning equipment or software. 7. Responds to all types of fire alarm related customer service calls, scheduled maintenance calls, and emergency and after-hours calls on a timely basis; will diagnose, troubleshoot, repair and debug a substantial variety of alarm systems for complex problems; exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criterion for obtaining results. Installs projects as necessary. 8. Using technical knowledge, skills and experience, acts as mentor for less experienced staff. May supervise workers in testing and adjusting equipment to obtain optimum operating performance. Provides performance feedback to management regarding installers. 9. Keeps up to date and informed on all company products, services and policies. 10. Presents a professional image of Convergint Technologies at all times in appearance and behaviour and seeks opportunities to promote the services offered by the company. 11. Communicates with and work with the other team members consistently to improve overall operations of the Convergint Technology Center, and company. 12. Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.
