Convergint’s affinity group for women, Convergint Women Connect, aims to evolve Convergint’s culture through advocacy, education, community, and visibility. Their mission is to make Convergint the most equitable and inclusive global service provider for women of all identities and backgrounds. Through visibility, CWC’s goal is to foster an environment that lifts underrepresented voices within Convergint and the industry through initiatives focused on recognition and networking. To recognize and celebrate women across Convergint Nation, Convergint Women Connect has created the Daily Difference Award.

The Daily Difference Award is a peer-nominated recognition award given to women at Convergint who make a daily difference by representing one of the company’s most deeply-held Values and Beliefs: I have integrity–it’s what I do when no one’s watching.

This quarter, Karen Mobilio was one of three Daily Difference Award recipients, nominated by her colleagues for being a hard worker who embodies strength, energy, and dedication to uplift her colleagues daily. Read the interview below where Karen discusses her career at Convergint, and how she is committed to making a daily difference.

Tell us a little bit about your career with Convergint.

I’ve been with Convergint for 9 years. Initially, I was in the booking role for about six years, specifically handling all bookings for the Bethpage CTC. This came with its fair share of challenges, requiring me to develop organizational skills to manage various aspects. I gained valuable experience working across different departments, including administration, operations, and sales. I was essentially the bridge between these functions. In Bethpage, our approach to booking is unique. The booking person also handles customer setup and assists with legal paperwork, sales support, CSP bookings, change orders, project bookings, and work orders. This allowed me to collaborate closely with colleagues, building strong relationships with everyone in the office.

Eventually, I had the opportunity to step into the role I currently hold, as the Office and Financial Service Manager. I thoroughly enjoy being in the middle of everything, collaborating with various teams, and working with the fantastic people here. The growth I’ve experienced, especially under Jen’s guidance, has been truly remarkable.

You won the Daily Difference Award based on your ongoing commitment to Convergint’s V&B: I have integrity–it’s what I do when no one’s watching. What does this value mean to you?

Integrity, to me, means taking ownership of everything that happens within our organization. It’s about not saying, “That’s not my job,” but instead, making sure that everything gets done. We should avoid pointing fingers or tracking people down; the focus should be on making a positive impact and improving Convergint. In essence, it’s about ensuring that nothing fails and coming in every day with the commitment to move things forward. Having integrity means owning tasks, getting them done, and consistently striving to do our best.

What is one item on your bucket list?

My bucket list item is to go on a two-week vacation to either Italy or Ireland, where I can fully unwind and explore. I would love to be able to take a few days to relax, followed by a week or more of fun in a new area! I would love to visit either of these places.

What is your secret to making a daily difference?

My secret to making a daily difference is taking full ownership of my role within the team. I ensure that I not only excel in my position as expected but also extend support to my colleagues in the CTC and anyone else in need of help, both within and outside the CTC.

I am fortunate to work in a highly supportive environment, and this has become especially evident during our transition to D365. Teamwork and mutual support have proven crucial, particularly on days like today when my workload is overwhelming. There’s a lot to accomplish, such as onboarding a new colleague, and I strive to maintain a sense of composure and effectiveness. The support I receive from my colleagues and the knowledge that I can make a positive impact by helping others are some of the reasons I truly cherish working for Convergint.
